Alisov Mykhailo Olexandrovych (1859 - 1930)

A Ukrainian artist, marine painter. Born in Kharkiv. From 1887 to 1889 he studied at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under the tutelage of Y. Clever. Then he moved to the Crimea where he worked under the guidance of I. Aivazovsky in Feodosiya. Took part in the exhibitions of the art group in Astrakhan (1900) and the art and artistic Society in Yekatyrynoslav (1910). In 1900, 1902 and 1903 his solo exhibitions were held in Kharkiv under the auspices of the Society of Kharkiv Artists. In 19144 he became a co-founding member of the art group in Yalta. Lived in Kharkov and the Crimea. Author of landscapes and sea-pieces. The works are stored in the art museums of Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sebastopol, Tula, and Nyzhny Novgorod, in Masandra Place in Yalta and other museums.
