Andrushchenko Mykola Dmytrovych (1935)

A Ukrainian painter, and avant-garde classic. Born in the mining camp Zhovtnevyi, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 1956 he graduated from Dnipropetrovsk Art School (the art studio of N. Pogribnyak and A. Kuko). From 1958 to 1964 he studied at Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts under the tutelage of R. Selskyi, V. Manastyrskyi and D. Dovbushynskyi. Since 1958 he has lived and worked in Lviv. A participant of international, all-Union, republican and regional exhibitions since 1965. Starting 1991 he is a lecturer at the department of monumental painting at Lviv National Academy of Arts, and since 2000 he has become a professor of the Academy. The Honoured Artist of Ukraine since 1992 and the People's Artist of Ukraine since 2000. He is working in the field of graphics and easel and monumental painting. His works are stored in the Khmelnytsky Art Museum and other Ukrainian museums.
