Brunel da Novil Alfred Arthur (1851 - 1941)

A French painter, master of still life, animalist. Born in Paris. He graduated from Paris School of Fine Arts. In 1879 he became a member of the Association of French Artists. The main subject of his works was sentimental scenes with pets. Especially popular were his paintings with cats, kittens that were playing, and with the entire cat families. He lived and worked in Paris. He was very popular during his lifetime. His solo exhibitions were held in various galleries of France in 1889, 1896, 1908 and 1909. The works are kept in the museums of France and private collections in many other countries.
