Vallette Rene (1874 - 1956)

A French painter, graphic artist and illustrator. Born in Orleans. He taught at Orleans College of Arts (1906 - 1924). One of the masters students was J. Bazin - a famous art historian and writer. Since 1901 he had regularly exhibited his works at the Salons. Since 1938 he had lived and worked in Courbouzon. Became famous as a representative of School of Murol, which was named for the place in the Auvergne region, where throughout the year the painters would come to depict the local landscapes, traditions and the way of life of the residents of mountain villages. The palmy days of the School were in the 1910s 1930s and were connected with the name P. Bonnard. R. Vallette traveled a lot and painted landscapes of the Alps, the Pyrenees and the southern coast of France. Master of genre and hunting scenes.
