Varennya Mykola Romanovych (1917 - 2001)

A Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Born in the village of Kalynove, Lugansk region. He studied at Odessa Art School (1936 - 1940). In 1946 he entered Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture n.a. I. Repin in St. Petersburg. In 1958 became a member of the National Union of Artists, and served as board chairman of Ivano-Frankivsk Branch of the National Artists Union. Since 1987 - Honored Artist of Ukraine. Since 1993 - Associate Professor of the Art Faculty of Prykarpattya University n.a. V. Stefanyk. He lived and worked in Ivano-Frankivsk. The works are stored in the NAMU, the Art Museum of Ivano-Frankivsk, etc.
