Vartanian (Vardanian) Gervasiy Oleksiyovych (1927)

An Armenian painter. Born in the town of Karaklis (now Vanadzor), Armenia.
He received an elementary art education at Yerevan Art School, having graduated it with a gold medal (1950). During 1950 - 1956 he studied at Yerevan Art and Theatre Institute in the art studios of A. Bekaryan and G. Gyurjyan. Participant of Republican and all-Union exhibitions since 1956. Designed the pavilion of the Armenian SSR for the Exhibition of Economic Achievements of the USSR (1956 - 1961) and the Soviet Department of the ASSR Historical Museum (1964). Honored artist of the ASSR. Member of the Artists Union of the USSR. Master of landscape and genre paintings.
