Veselovskyi Lyudvyk Romanovych (Wiesiolowsky Ludwik, 1851 - 1892)

A Polish painter. Born in Warsaw. He got his elementary art education in Warsaw Drawing Class. During 1874 - 1880 he studied at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. As a student he was awarded four silver and two gold medals (1878, 1879). In 1879 he received the title of an artist of historical painting of the 1st degree. In the years of 1880 - 1884 he was the Academys pensioner abroad. Participant of the art exhibitions since 1882. Starting 1886, he taught at Warsaw Drawing Class. In 1887 his solo exhibition was held in Warsaw. Author of religious, historical and genre paintings. The works are kept in the Museum of St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, Odessa Art Museum, and museums of Poland and Germany.
