Vlasov Sergiy Oleksiyovych (1873 - 1942)

Russian painter and graphic artist. Born in the village of Penky, Kostroma province. During 1901 - 1910 he studied at Higher Art School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture affiliated with St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under the tutelage of I. Repin and P. Chystyakov. Exhibited his works at the exhibitions of the Artists Community (1917, its founder and secretary), Artists Association n.a. A. Kuindzhi (1918, 1926 - 1930), Artists-Individualists Association (1926), First State Free Exhibition of the Artworks (1919), Petrograd Exhibition of Artists of All Styles (1923) and many others. Held his solo exhibition in Petrograd-Leningrad (1919, 1937), Galych (1921, 1938), Yaroslavl (1938). He lived in St. Petersburg and travelled a lot around Russia. He worked as a landscape painter, portraitist and created a number of genre paintings and still lifes. He was engaged in poster painting. His works are in the Research Museum of Russian Academy of Arts, in the Galych Regional Museum, etc.
