A Russian painter. He studied at the Drawing School of the Society for Encouraging Arts in St. Petersburg. Since 1880 he was a member of the Society of Russian Watercolorists. From1883 to 1892 he was an auditor to St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Since 1887 he participated in the exhibitions of the Academy of Arts, St. Petersburg ArtistsХ Union, the Society for Encouraging Arts, Moscow Society of Art Lovers, the Society of Russian Watercolorists, etc. Being the famous portraitist, since 1894 he had painted from nature the grand dukes and members of the royal families.
