Glushchenko Mykola Petrovych (1900 - 1977)

A prominent Ukrainian painter, working mostly in the genres of landscape, still life and portrait. Born in the town of Novomoskovsk, now Dnipropetrovsk region. During 1917 - 1924 he studied at Berlin Higher School of Fine Arts. Untill 1936 he had lived abroad (France, Spain) and since 1936 - in Moscow, then - in Kyiv. Taught at Republican Secondary Art School. Professor of Kyiv Art Institute since 1939. People's Artist of the USSR in 1976. The USSR State Prize Winner n.a. T. Shevchenko (1972). His works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the NAMU, the Lviv National Museum, the art museums of Odessa, Kharkiv, etc.
