Glyuk Gavrylo Martynovych (1912 - 1983)

A Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Born in the town of Sziget (now - Romania). He got his elementary art education at Budapest Art School (1927 - 1931) and in the art studio of I. Seyne. From 1931 to 1933 he studied at Budapest Academy of Arts under the guidance of I. Reite. Participant of Republican, all-Union and international exhibitions since 1946. Member of the  USSR Artists' Union since 1948. In 1956 he was awarded the diploma of the Venice exhibition, and in 1958 Ð the diploma and silver medal at the Great Exhibition in Brussels. His solo exhibitions were held in Uzhgorod (1963), Kyiv (1983), and other cities of Ukraine (1963 - 1967). He lived and worked in Uzhgorod. Master of genre painting, landscape, and portrait. The works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the NAMU, the Zakarpattya Art Museum n.a. Y. Bokshai.
