Glyuk Gavrylo Martynovych (1912 - 1983)

A Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Born in the town of Sziget (now - Romania). He got his elementary art education at Budapest Art School (1927 - 1931) and in the art studio of I. Seyne. From 1931 to 1933 he studied at Budapest Academy of Arts under the guidance of I. Reite. Participant of Republican, all-Union and international exhibitions since 1946. Member of the  USSR Artists' Union since 1948. In 1956 he was awarded the diploma of the Venice exhibition, and in 1958 the diploma and silver medal at the Great Exhibition in Brussels. His solo exhibitions were held in Uzhgorod (1963), Kyiv (1983), and other cities of Ukraine (1963 - 1967). He lived and worked in Uzhgorod. Master of genre painting, landscape, and portrait. The works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the NAMU, the Zakarpattya Art Museum n.a. Y. Bokshai.
