A German painter. Born near the Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria. He got his elementary art education in private art schools of Munich. From 1875 to 1877 he studied in the art studios of J.-L. Jerome and F. Kolarossi in Paris, then - at Berlin Academy of Arts. Since the early 1880Хs he regularly traveled to the Netherlands. Author of landscapes and genre scenes.
