Ejsmond Franz (1859 - 1931)

A famous Polish painter. Born in Krohulova, Polish-Russian province of Radom. He studied at Warsaw Art School under the guidance of V. Gerson. Since 1880 at the art exhibitions in Krakow, Berlin and Vienna he exhibited the paintings devoted to Polish national life. He was the author of beautiful portraits. For some time he lived and worked in Germany (1880-1890s). After returning home he continued performing genre compositions which were repeatedly awarded medals at numerous exhibitions in Warsaw, Krakow and Lviv. His works are kept in many museum and private collections, including Warsaw Art Museum.
