Yegorov Yuriy Mykolayovych (1926 - 2008)

A Ukrainian artist, one of the most famous representatives of Odessa school of painting. Born in Stalingrad (now Volgograd). From 1946 till 1948 he studied at Odessa Art School, during 1948 - 1952 - at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, during 1952 - 1955 at the monumental department of the High Art and Industrial School named after V. Mukhina. He moved to Odessa in 1955 and taught at Odessa Art School. Member of the Artists' Union of the USSR since 1957. He was a participant of solo and group art exhibitions in Odessa, Kyiv, Moscow, Leningrad, London, as well as in Bulgaria, Moldova and others. Honored Artist of Ukraine since 2006. In June 2009 in the Museum of Modern Art in Odessa the hall with the permanent exhibition of the artist was opened.
