Zhukovskyy Stanislav Yulianovych (1875 - 1944)

A prominent Russian artist, landscape painter, master of interior works and still lives. Born in Grodno province. In the years of 1892 - 1901 he studied at Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under the guidance of V. Polenov, I. Levitan, S. Korovin and A. Arkhipov. During the study he received three silver medals (1896, 1897, 1901), at its end - the title of the class artist. He took part at the exhibitions in Russia and abroad since 1893. Member of such associations as: Moscow Society of Art Lovers (1899 - 1908), the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions (1903), the Union of Russian Artists (since 1907). He was awarded the gold medals at the International exhibition in Munich (1909, 1913). During 1907 - 1917 he taught in his own studio of painting and drawing in Moscow. Academician since 1907. From 1919 till 1920 he lived in Vyatka. He worked as a stage designer and as a director at a local theater. In 1923 he emigrated to Poland, where he lived in Krakow. Member of Krakow union of friends of Fine Arts "Pro Arte". For his works which were exhibited by the Society for the Promotion of Artists in Warsaw, he was awarded medals, diplomas and prizes (1923 - 1925, 1927, 1931, 1937). His works are presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and in many museums of Russia and Poland.
