Ivkovskyy Semen Karpovych (1874 - 1927)

A Russian painter. He studied at Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1894 - 1901). In 1899 he received the title of the extra-class artist; in 1900 he received a small silver medal. In the years of 1902 - 1907 he studied at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under the guidance of V. Makovskyy. In 1907 he was awarded the title of the artist for the painting "In the reception room". He exhibited his works at the exhibitions of Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, of the Academy of Arts. Since 1907 he studied at the department of mosaic of the Academy of Arts, since 1913 he was the junior mosaicist. He lived in St. Petersburg (till 1919) and in Kyiv.
