Igoshev Volodymyr Olexandrovych (1921)
A Russian artist. Born in the village of Askino, Ufymska region, Bashkiria. During 1936 - 1940 he studied at Bashkiria Art School. In 1950 he graduated from Moscow Institute of Art, where his teachers were D. Mochalskyy, V. Pochytalov, G. Ryazhskyy. Since 1944 he participated in the republican, all-union and foreign exhibitions. In 1954 he was awarded the diploma of the 1st degree of the Ministry of Culture of RSFSR. Honored Artist of the RSFSR since 1961, People's Artist of the RSFSR since 1965. His personal exhibitions were held in Ufa (1944), Sverdlovsk (1955, 1959, 1961, 1964, 1967), Moscow (1964, 1967), Tyumen, Perm and Chelyabinsk (1959). His works were exhibited at the international exhibitions in Tokyo (1977) and Budapest (1978). As a result of numerous trips to Khanty-Mansi National District (1954 - 1970) he created a series of genre works devoted to the culture and the way of life of local ethnic groups. He worked in the fields of easel painting and book illustration. Author of landscapes, portraits and still lives. In 2001 in Khanty-Mansiysk the Museum of V. Igoshev was opened. His works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, Kyiv National Museum of Russian Art, in almost all regional Art Museums of Russia.
