Kalmykov Gregoriy Odisseyovych (1873 - 1942)
A Russian painter. Born in Kerch. Since 1889 he studied under the guidance of I. Aivazovskyy in Feodosia, at Odessa Drawing School under the guidance of K. Kostandi, since 1893 - in St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under the guidance of A. Kuindzhi. In 1895 he received the title of the class painter of the 3rd degree, in 1897 - the title of the artist. Since 1892 he participated in the exhibitions of the Academy of Arts, of the artistsХ society named after A. Kuindzhi, etc. In 1900 his solo exhibition was held in St. Petersburg. In 1901 his works were exhibited in Munich. He lived and worked in St. Petersburg. He painted mostly landscapes, which enjoyed great popularity, and were often reproduced in periodicals and leaflets. His works are kept in the State Museum of History of St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl Art Museum, the Russian State Museum of Arctic and Antarctic in St. Petersburg, etc.
