Kondratenko Gavryilo Pavlovych (1854 - 1924)

A Russian artist, landscape painter, a bright representative of the academic turn of the century. Born in the village of Pavlovske, Penza province. Since 1873 he was an auditor at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (under the guidance of K. Gun), since 1875 - a student of the Academy of Arts in the class of landscape painting (under the guidance of M. Klodt). In 1877 and 1880 he received the first gold medal, in 1879 - two second silver medals, in 1882 - the second gold medal. In 1882 he graduated from the Academy of Arts with the rank of the class artist of the 2nd degree. In 1883 he received the first prize of the Society for the Promotion of Artists. Exhibitor of the art exhibitions since 1882. His works were very popular among the secular public of St. Petersburg during 1880 - 1890s. They are presented in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, Dnipropetrovsk Art Museum, etc.
