Konovalyuk Fedir Zotykovych (1890 - 1984)

A Ukrainian painter. Born in the village of Kalivka, now Vinnitsa region. During 1903 - 1909 he studied at Lavra icon-painting workshops, during 1911 - 1915 - at Kyiv Art School under the guidance of V. Menk and O. Murashko, during 1915 - 1917 Ð at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under the guidance of V. Makovskyy, during 1925 - 1927 - at Kyiv Institute of Art under the guidance of F. Krichevskyy. From 1900 till 1910 he participated in the decoration of churches of Kyiv and Ekaterinoslav (now Dnipropetrovsk). For a long time he worked together with I. Yizhakevych. In his creative work he developed the traditions of Ukrainian artists of the late •§•th - early ••th century. He lived and worked in Kyiv. His works are stored in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in the State Museum of Taras Shevchenko, etc.
