Makovska Olexandra Yegorivna (1837 - 1915)

A Russian painter and graphic artist. The eldest child of E. Makovsky, the famous Moscow art lover, one of the founders of Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, sister and student of K. Makovsky, V. Makovsky and M. Makovsky. The painting of the artist under the title "V okrestnostyah Petersburga" (In the outskirts of Petersburg) was bought by P. Tretyakov for his collection. She lived and worked in St. Petersburg. Being the author of numerous landscapes, she also worked in the technique of eau-forte. Her works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Art Gallery of Chelyabinsk Region, Pereslavl-Zaleski Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve.
