Maksymenko Mykola Antonovych (1924)

A Ukrainian artist, master of still life, landscapes, genre paintings, the author of numerous portraits. Born in the village of Vilhovatka, Poltava region. From 1933 till 1938 he studied at Dnepropetrovsk Art School. In 1947 he graduated from Kyiv Institute of Art (the studio of K Yeleva, O. Shovkunenko). Member of the National Union of Artists since 1947. The winner of the Prize of the Academy of Arts of USSR (1948), Honored Artist of the USSR since 1972. His works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine and in other museums of Ukraine. He lived and worked in Kiev.
