Manastyrskyy Anton Ivanovych (1878 - 1969)

A Ukrainian painter, writer, literary critic and publicist. Born in the village of Zavalove, Ternopil region. Since 1895 till 1899 he studied at Lviv School of Art and Industry, during 1900 - 1905 at Krak_w Academy of Arts. Since 1900 he started his exhibition activity. He lived and worked in Lviv. In 1953 he won the title of the Honored Artist of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, in 1957 - the title of the People's Artist of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. Master of realistic landscapes, portraits, historical paintings and satirical canvases. His worka are presented in the Art Museums of Lviv, Kyiv, Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Mykolayiv.
