Martynov Anatoliy Volodymyrovych (1872 - 1962)
A Ukrainian painter and photographer. He studied at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under the guidance of O. Makovskyy. He published his watercolors and drawings in the magazine "The Sun of Russia" (1913 - 1916). He took part in the First World War. The military sketches of the master were published in magazines "The Sun of Russia" (1915) and "Lukomoriye" (1916), his photo reports were publishshed in the magazine ТIskraУ (1915 - 1916). After the Revolution he lived in Kharkiv. Participant of republican exhibitions since 1925. Member of Kharkiv branch of the ArtistsХ Union of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1938. In the years of 1920s Р 1930s, he designed a large number of postcards with the views of Ukrainian cities. In addition, in the 1920s Kharkiv Printing Agency issued about 70 cards of the Crimean series "The sketches of the artist A. Martynov". Member of the Artists' Union of the USSR since 1944. In 1945 he moved to Simferopol. Author of the label of one of the most famous Crimean wines "Black Doctor", which became a business card of "Massandra" factory.
