Martynov Mykola Avenirovych (1842 - 1913)

A Russian painter, graphic artist, watercolourist. He graduated from Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, taught art in various educational institutions in Moscow. In 1880 he taught drawing to the children of S. Mamontov, M. Sabashnykov, T. Aksakova-Sivere, etc. The portrait of the artist were painted by A. Vasnetsov, I. Ostroukhov and other artists of Abramtsevskyy circle. Master of domestic and animalistic genres, landscape painter. His raintings are presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Historical and Literary and Artistic museum-reservation "Abramtsevo"; several watercolors depicting birds are in the collection of the State Darwin Museum in Moscow.
