Medvid Lyubomyr Myroslavovych (1941)

A Ukrainian painter, writer, teacher. Born in the village of Varyazh, Lviv region. In 1965 he graduated from Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. He studied under the guidance of V. Manastyrskyy, R. Selsky, K. Zvirynsky. After the graduation he remained there to work as a teacher of drawing (1966 - 1970). Since 1964 he has been taking part in various exhibitions. Professor, head of the monumental painting department of Lviv National Academy of Arts. People's Artist of Ukraine since 1999; Academician of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine since 2004. His works are kept in the museums in Ukraine, particularly in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, as well as in private collections.
