Mezhberg Lev Leonidovych (1933 - 2007)

A Ukrainian artist. Born in Odessa. He graduated from Odessa Art School in 1959, where he studied under the guidance of D. Frumin, M. Sheluto, L. Muchnyk. Participant of republican and all-union exhibitions since 1960, he was repeatedly awarded with diplomas. He was included into the list of the six best young artist of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, whose works were exhibited in major European cities. Member of the Artists' Union of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1962. In 1973 he emigrated to the United States, from 1991 till 1994 he lived in Paris, from 2001 till 2007 - in Italy. Participant of more than forty exhibitions in Ukraine, the USA, France and Italy. He collaborated with the gallery Franklin Bowles (San Francisco), which issued two catalogues of the master (2002, 2005). Author of landscapes, still lives and genre compositions. His works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in the Art Museums of Odessa, Simferopol, Kharkiv, Saratov, Vologda, in the museums of the USA, France, Brazil and in private collections of such famous personalities as W. Horowitz, M. Rostropovych, M. Baryshnikov and Shemyakin.
