Meijer Hendrick de (about 1610 - after 1660)
A Dutch painter who belonged to the period of the national school of painting flourishing. He worked in Rotterdam. He was a member of the local Guild of painters, gained recognition as a master of the marine seascape. He painted mostly genre scenes on the coast and "fish markets", also he performed the scenes in military camps and battle compositions. His works are kept in the museum collections in Amsterdam, the Hague, Rotterdam, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, etc. In the Hermitage collection, among the other works of the master, there is a landscape motif.
