Muchnyk Leonid Ovsiyovych (1896 - 1966)

A Ukrainian painter. Born in Odessa. He studied at Odessa Art School (1911 - 1914) under the guidance of K. Kostandi and G. Ladyzhenskyy. In 1926 he graduated from Odessa Art Institute, where he taught for many years. Among the Professors pupils are A. Soroka, K. Lomykin, O. Atsmanchuk, V. Vlasov, K. Filatov, etc. In 1963 in Odessa his personal exhibition took place. Author of landscapes, urban views and multifigured compositions that reflect the historic and heroic events of the Black Sea Fleet. His works are presented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in the Art Museums of Odessa and Kharkiv.
