Ostroumova-Lebedyeva Ganna Petrivna (1871 - 1955)
A Russian graphic artist and painter. An artist and a pioneer in the field of creative prints.She was born and lived in St. Petersburg. She studied at the Central School of Technical Drawing (1889 - 1892), in St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1892 - 1900) under the guidance of K. Savytskyy, P. Chystyakov, I. Repin, V. Mate. She graduated from the Axademy of Arts with the title of the artist. She worked in Paris (1898 - 1899) in the workshop of J. Whistler. She studied under the guidance of L. Bakst. She traveled across Europe. Member of such associations as "The World of Arts" (1900), "4 arts" (since 1924). She taught at the Higher Institute of photography and photographic equipment (1918 - 1919), at the Academy of Arts (1934 - 1936). People's Artist of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1949). In her artistic heritage there are many beautiful watercolors, drawings, prints, landscapes. She revived the colour xylography. She made a significant contribution into the Russian and the world art.
