Trokhymenko Karpo Dem'yanovych (1885 - 1979)

A Ukrainian artist, genre and landscape painter. Born in the village of Suschany, Kyiv region. He studied at Kyiv Art School under the guidance of I. Seleznyov (1902 - 1910), in Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under the guidance of M. Kasatkin (1906 - 1907), in St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under the guidance of M. Samokysha (1910 - 1916). He was a teacher at Kyiv Institute of Art (1933 - 1974), since 1939 - professor. An outstanding artist and teacher. People's Artist of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1944. Winner of the State Prize of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic named after T. Shevchenko (1969). He lived and worked in Kyiv. His works are stored in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Lviv National Museum, in the Art Museums of Dniprpetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Sevastopol, Gorlovska, etc.
