Hayimov Yakov Markovych (1914 - 1991)

A Russian painter, a brilliant representative of Moscow school of painting, master of plenary landscape. Born in the village of Pochyb, Belarus. He graduated from the art studio at Moscow Institute of Art, where he studied under the guidance of A. Kanevskyy. In 1935 he entered Moscow Institute of Art, where at that time O. Osmyorkin, B. Ioganson, I. Grabar were teaching. He was close to the artistic circle which included A. Lentulov, B. Favorskyy, A. Deyneka, etc. During the war, together with other students he was evacuated to Uzbekistan, where he worked under the direction of S. Gerasymov. Since 1946 - permanent exhibitor of the art exhibitions, member of the Artists Union of the USSR.
