Rivoire Francois (1842 - 1919)

A French painter and watercolourist. Born in Lyon. He studied at the Art Studio of B. R_gnier in Paris. In 1866 he debuted at Paris Salon and entered the Union of French artists. During 1883 - 1900 he was awarded prizes at numerous exhibitions. Commander of the Legion of Honour Order (1906). He gained popularity as a master of floral still lives performed in the techniques of watercolour, gouache and pastel. He lived and worked in Paris. His works are presented in the Art Museums of Paris, Amiens, Lyon, Reims, Toledo, Luxembourg and others.
