Courbe, Courbier Marcel (1898 - 1976)

A French painter and sculptor. Born in N_mes in the southern part of France. From 1917 till 1920 he studied in Paris Academy of Arts under the guidance of the sculptor J. A. Coutan. Since 1923 - a constant exhibitor of Parisian salons. In 1926 the masters creative work was awarded with the National Prize. In 1966 he participated in the development of the medal in honour of Nobel Peace Prize. He lived and worked in Paris. He was engaged in painting and sculptural decoration. He painted allegorical scenes and landscapes. His works are presented in the Smithsonian Museum of the American Art in Washington and in the Art Museums of France.
