Kurpatova Olga (Kurpatoff Olga, 1904 - 1938)

A Russian artist, painter. Born in St. Petersburg in the family of the jeweler from K. Faberge’s firm A. Holmstrem, granddaughter of A.-V. Holmstrem - one of the major artists of the company. After 1917 with the assistance of her future husband, the architect L. Kurpatov, she emigrated to Finland and settled in Turku. In 1933 together with her husband she contributed to the establishment of the Union of the Russian artists in Finland. She was a constant exhibitor and a treasury keeper of the Union. At the end of the 1930s she moved to Helsinki. She painted still lives, landscapes and portraits, she was well-known as a fashion designer. She worked in the techniques of oil painting, watercolours and pastels.
