Antonyuk Andriy Danylovych (1943 - 2013)

A Ukrainian painter. Born in Pervomaysk, Mykolaiv region. In 1962 he graduated from Odessa Art School. Participant of regional, national, and all-union exhibitions since 1966. Member of the Artists' Union of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1970, honored artist of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1989. Winner of Vasyl Stus Prize (1993) and of the State Prize of Ukraine named after T. Shevchenko (1994). He was awarded the Silver (2000) and the Gold (2002) National Medals of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine. People's Artist of Ukraine since 2007. His personal exhibitions took place in Kyiv (2005, 2006), Mykolayiv (1987, 2007), Munich, Geneva, London, Paris and in other European cities. He lived and worked in Mykolayiv.
