Arnold Hoffman (1886 - 1966)

An artist of the Russian abroad, painter, lithographer and teacher. Born in Odessa. He studied at the private drawing school of A. Ostromenskyy, later in Munich. He emigrated to the United States, settled in New York. He was a member of the American Union of the watercolourists, artistic club Audubon, the Artists’ Union of the USA, the American Congress of Artists. He exhibited his works at Whitney Museum of the American Art in New York (1921), in US National Academy of Design, ACA Gallery and Montross Gallery, Art Club Audubon, etc. He taught at the Academy of Allied Arts in New York. Father of the famous American artist A. Hoffman Jr.. His works are kept in numerous museum and private collections.
