Bauer Karl-Konrad Friedrich (1868 - 1942)

A German painter and graphic artist. He was born in Stuttgart. He studied at the art school in Stuttgart, then at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of B. Lindenschmit and in the Academy of R. Julien in Paris (1893). He traveled a lot to Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK. In 1902 he returned to Stuttgart. He was engaged in the illustration of literary works. Author of portraits and genre scenes. His works are kept in the National Gallery of modern art in Munich, in Dresden Picture Gallery, Stuttgart Art Museum.
