Thorne-Waite Robert (1842 - 1935)

A well-known British artist, watercolourist. Born in Cheltenham, the UK. He received his artistic education at the Art School in South Kensington. Since 1870 he exhibited his works in London Academy of Arts. In 1876 he became a member of the Royal Society of Watercolourists. The floral still lifes as well as pastoral scenes and landscape motifs of Yorkshire and South England of the master became widely known. During 1891 - 1898 there were several solo exhibitions in London. His works are kept in many museums in Europe, particularly in Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and in numerous private collections.
