Baskakov Nikolay Nikolaevich (1918 - 1993)
A Russian painter. Born in Sovietskiy settlement, Astrakhan region. During 1933 - 1939 he studied at the Astrakhan Art School under the guidance of P. Vlasov, from 1945 till 1951 - in the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under the guidance of B. Yoganson, L. Ovsyannikov, B. Fogel. Participant of municipal, union and international exhibitions since 1943. Member of the Artists Union of the USSR since 1951. Active member of Petrovskaya Academy of Arts and Sciences. In 1991 there was held the solo exhibition of the artists in Leningrad. Author of thematic paintings, portraits and landscapes. Bright representative of Leningrad school of painting. His works are kept in the State Art Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan of A.Kasteev, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, in the museums and private collections of Russia, the UK, Germany, France and other countries.
