Yakutovich Georgiy Vyacheslavovich (1930 - 2000)

A Ukrainian graphic and movie artist. Born in Kiev. During 1948 - 1954 he studied at Kiev Institute of Art under the guidance of I. Pleshchinskiy. Master of linocut, xylograph and etching. He worked a lot in the field of book illustration. Author of the sceneries for such films as "The Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" and "Zahar Berkut". Honored Artist of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1965. He won the State Prize of the USSR of T. Shevchenko twice (1983, 1991). Active member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR since 1988 and academician of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine since 1996. People's Artist of Ukraine since 1990. Professor of the National Academy of Fine Art and architecture since 1995. He lived and worked in Kiev.
