Zaruba Konstantin Vasilievich (1910 - 2000)

A Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Born in the village of Kefalovka, Kirovograd region. In 1947 he graduated from Kyiv Institute of Art, where he studied under the guidance of F. Krichevskiy, I. Shtilman, S. Grigoriev, V. Kostetskiy. During 1941 - 1945 he painted for the frontline newspapers. Since 1945 - member of the satirical magazine called «The Pepper». He took part in the exhibitions since 1947. He illustrated and designed the The Writings by A. Pushkin (1955). From 1947 till 1980 he taught at Kyiv Institute of Art. He painted portraits, landscapes and thematic scenes. His works are kept in Lugansk Art Museums, in the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv, etc.
