Henri Giraud de Noyak (Girault de Nolhac Henri, 1884 - 1948)

French painter and draftsman. The son of a famous writer, art historian, curator of the Palace of Versailles P. de Noyak. Born in Paris. He spent his childhood and adolescence in Versailles, where the artist's father worked on the reorganization and restoration of the palace. He studied at the Paris School of Fine Arts (1914 - 1918). Member of the French national Society of Fine Arts, Knight of the Order of the Legion of Honor. Permanent member of the Parisian salons, repeatedly was a member of the salons’ jury. Many solo exhibitions were held in France and other European countries, the USA and Canada. While travelling painted a lot of pictures that were published in magazines and enjoyed great popularity. He created a series of interiors of Versailles commissioned by the French government. He painted portraits, landscapes and genre scenes. Works are kept in the Paris Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of the History of France at Versailles and other museum collections.
