Yatchenko Juliy M. (1928 )
Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Born in the village of Ripky, Chernigov region. In 1953 graduated from Kyiv Institute of Art, where he studied under the guidance of M. Sharonov, S. Grigoriev, K. Yeleva. In 1953 - 1963 was the master of Republican Art High School named after T. Shevchenko Participant of Republican and All-Union exhibitions since 1956. In the same year joined the Union of Artists of USSR. From 1963 he taught at the Kyiv Institute of Art. During the 1970s he served as provost of Kyiv Institute of Art, in 1979 was promoted to professor. Since 1978 Honored Artist of the USSR. During 1971 - 2013 spent more than ten solo exhibitions. Since 2010, National artist of of Ukraine. He lives in Kiev, working in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. The author of portraits, landscapes, themed paintings. His works are kept in the Museum of Albertinum in Dresden, Donetsk, Mykolayiv, Chernihiv, Chernivtsi Art Museums and private collections.
