Cosenza Giuseppe (1846 - 1922)

Italian painter. Born in Lucca, province of Cosenza (Italy). In 1862 he moved to Naples, where he took art lessons at V. Marinelli, then, with the assistance of the teacher and with the support of the community of Cosenza province continued his studies at Naples Academy of Arts. In 1873 successfully debuted on academic exhibition. In 1873 - 1885 participated in numerous exhibitions in Naples, Genoa, Abruzzo, Florence and Turin. In late 1880s he moved to New York, where his works had great popularity. He painted genre scenes, landscapes and marines. Works are kept in museums and private collections in Italy and the U.S.
