Mandel Lidia F. (1900 -?)
The representative of the Russian abroad, painter. Born in Orenburg. She studied at the studios of I. Mashkov in Moscow and A. Exter in Kiev. Approximately in 1920 settled in Paris. Was part of the literary and artistic group "Cherez". Participated in the design of the poet B. Bozhnyev's party at the La Licorne Gallery (1923). She painted still lifes, landscapes and portraits. Works were exhibited in the Salons: Independent (since 1922) and Autumn (since 1924), as well as on the exhibitions in London, Amsterdam, Algeria and Palestine. In 1930 she held the exhibition "Palestine and Algeria" in the Paris Colber gallery, in 1933 and 1935 - personal exhibition in Barreiro gallery. Participated in the Exhibition of Modern Women Artists in Paris (1935), the exhibition "Ballerinas, coryphaeus, acrobats" (1937). The artist's painting "Interior" was purchased by the French government for the Luxembourg Museum (1935). In the 1930s collaborated with the journal Vendredi. Works were reproduced in the magazines Beaux-Arts and Art et Décoration.
