Gillemans Jan Pauwel II (1651 1704)

Flemish painter, the son of the artist J.P. Hillemans l. In 1665 - 1666 studied under the guidance of the artist J. van Son. Member of the painters' guild of Saint Luke in Antwerp (1673 - 1674) and Middelburg (1700 - 1702). Since 1704 he lived and worked in Amsterdam. Known as a master of still life. The works are presented in the State Hermitage, the Chartreuse Museum in Douai, the Museum of Joan d'Abovil in La Fere, Foundation BembergMuseum in Toulouse, Museum of Fine Arts in Valencia (all in France), the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle (UK), Fredensborg Palace on island Zealand (Denmark), Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna and others.
