Karpinski Alfons (1875 – 1961)

The famous Polish painter. Born in Rozvadov, now Lviv region. In 1891 - 1895 he studied at the Krakow School of Fine Arts under the guidance of L. Wyczolkowski, in 1903 - at the Munich Academy of Arts under the guidance of A. Azbe, in 1904 - 1907 at the Vienna Academy of Arts under the guidance of K. Pohvalski, in 1922 - 1923 - at the Academie Сolarossi in Paris. Member of the Society of Polish Artists "Art", Public Union of Polish independent artists, art groups "Zero" and "The Ten." Active member of the Society "Vienna Secession" since 1907. He collaborated with the legendary art-literary cabaret "Green Balloon» (Zielony Balonik) in Krakow. He painted floral still lives, female portraits, interiors and landscapes.
